About this bead: My Husband and I are so excited to announce RAHW Cuts first custom focal bead available exclusively at rahwcuts.com. We worked hard to design this bead. The bottom of the bead fits a 15mm round bead to prevent gaps from showing the bar or string for the item you are designing. The design is very close to both of our hearts and we hope that it helps to raise awareness about the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. In July of 2022 the National Suicide Prevention Hotline was changed from a 10 digit 800 number to a 3 digit number, 988, to increase the ease of access similar to 911 and 211. The semicolon is used in relation to mental health to raise awareness of suicide prevention, depression, addiction, and help stop mental health stigma. The butterfly has been a symbol used to represent transformation, the cocoon like condition resembles the depressed and withdrawn feelings experienced by those with mental illness and the adult butterfly represents those who have emerged from their struggles to achieve a better state of being. 4 years ago my husband and I lost my sister to suicide. It has had a lasting impact on our family. My husband has also lost friends to suicide in his past and also struggled with thoughts of suicide as a teen. These experiences led to him making the choice to become a Mental Health Therapist. He has spent the last 7 years working to help individuals with Suicidal Ideation and thoughts of self-harm. We know the power of having someone who is there to just to listen during times of despair and desperation. This bead is very special and we are glad to be able to share it. We sincerely hope that this bead will help others to learn about the resource that 988 provides to others.
